My friends and I, all huge Who fans, were at the concert one Saturday night in Toronto, fully expecting the Clash to open, as promised. <br /><br />But they bailed on us so they could appear on SNL, and we got Joe Jackson instead.<br /><br />Joe Jackson isn't in any way a good mix for Who fans, even if Pete Townsend liked him. Jackson fled the stage in a hail of hotdogs and whatever else wasn't bolted down. <br /><br />Townsend came out onstage and berated us, said he might cancel the show. He didn't.
